Hi Sea Lions!

We are so excited about the upcoming July 4th festivities!

Parade: Just a few reminders about Sea Lions who want to participate in the parade on the HV Sea Lions floats:

• Please arrive at the upper pool by 10:45. The parade starts at 11. Coaches and volunteers will help you determine where your kids need to go. 
  • Kids should bring water guns, but water balloons are not allowed.
• Children 7 years old and younger are not allowed on the swim team floats. Children participating in the parade must be able to stay on the floats for the entire duration of the parade, so please be sure your child knows what they are signing up for. They cannot leave the parade vehicle halfway through the parade under any circumstances for safety reasons.
• All parents will need to be at the upper pool at the end of the parade so kids can easily find them after the parade is over. If you cannot be there to collect your child after the parade, arrange to have someone bring them back to you. Coaches should not have to help kids find their way home after the parade.
  • Kids cannot remain at the pool unattended as there will be no lifeguards on duty.

Spectators: 

• There is a dry zone and a wet zone for parade floats. Please be mindful of not spraying the parade participants/vehicles in the dry zone. 
• Spectators from the street should not throw water balloons at parade float vehicles or the people in them. This can cause vehicle damage and is very painful for people in the floats. Water guns and hoses are fair game.

Pool games:

The pool games start at 2:00 p.m. at the upper pool. Prizes will be awarded for each category:

• Belly flop contest
• Floatie races:
  • 8U-12
  • 13+
• Diving for treasure
